Why we Visit Veterinary Schools

Our DVM college liaison (shown above with University of Missouri's SAVMA and VBMA Board) recently visited the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, where he spoke with about 60 students about the benefits of joining privately owned clinics.
Our company understands the importance of representing private practices on campus, as students are usually only interacting with corporate representatives. Let’s face it, it’s hard to get a foot in the door at veterinary schools if you aren’t part of the big corporate clinics. But I am happy to report that we have been invited by student groups – including the Student American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Business Management Associate – at schools across the country, and internationally, who are interested in learning more about working for private clinics or even how to start their own.
This is a long-term investment on our part for our clients. The biggest response we get is from second- and third-year students who have not begun their clinical work and are weighing their options for what to do after graduation. By meeting them where they are in school, both physically and mentally, we are letting them know they have options. These students, in turn, reach out to our firm when they are ready to begin their job search, and that enables us to connect them with our clients.
Currently, DVM is the only recruiting firm being invited to speak with student veterinary clubs on campus. If you’d like to talk more about our efforts, or how our service could help you add a new associate to your practice, give me a call.
