Don’t Put A Hold On Recruiting During The Holidays

A wreath with the words happy holidays written in gold.

‘Tis the season for holiday cheer, vacations, and a more relaxed attitude at work. But putting the task of recruiting new staff on hold for the holidays is often a mistake made by business owners. Here’s why…

First, if you’ve already begun the process of recruiting for a specific position, putting the search on hold for two or three weeks could cause you to lose the momentum on which you’ve been building.

Second, with the ongoing national shortage of veterinarians, clinic owners can’t afford to prolong the hiring process. Fewer doctors on staff means fewer patients to be seen and fewer dollars to be made.

Third, the holiday season is a good time to reach out to interview candidates. Many have more relaxed hours at work and more free time to talk. The timing is right for some strategic conversations.

If you don’t have the time to spend on recruiting, or are unsure of how to get started, give me a call and I’ll let you know how my team has earned a 93 percent success rate in bringing quality candidates to our clients.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season,
